24 hour Chemist

Being a father of 2 little girls it's extremely frustrating when your kids have a fever late at night. If you're in SYdney, you need not fear, there's now a 24 hour chemist, we are little behind Perth and Adelaide where they have 24 hour chemists but nonetheless, we have one now.

No, I am not affiliated with this chemist, through my search I wasn't able to find any, by chance I saw an advert in the papers.

Sync your Google Calendar with your iphone

Most solutions to sync your iphone with your google calendar involves a 3rd party solution such as ical etc..  but you do not need to involve a 3rd party software/provider.


Steps are:
1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CalDAV Account


2. For the CalDAV settings, enter the following information. Note that your username should be the email address you use to access your Google calendar as well as the password.

3. Then tap “Next” and it should verify your information.

4. If you can’t get your account verified, tap “Advanced settings” and make sure that “Use SSL” is On, that the port is 443, and that your Account URL includes the sign “@” in your email address.

That’s it!

Now every time you add an event to your iPhone calendar, it will also show up on your Google calendar, and vice versa. You obviously need to have internet access from your iPhone for the data to sync. Note that the sync is not immediate. It sometimes takes a few seconds but besides this, it works very well.

My watch

I have a Casio Pro-trek PRG-90 Casio number is 2894. The watch is a solar powered watch, the reason I bought one was the idea of never needing to replace the battery had appealed to me. I've owned this watch for little over 4 years now and on the display it says "open" all functions of the watch has stopped. From my research the battery that retains the solar charge needs replacing. Irony is my other watch which is not solar powered still has its original battery and it is almost 5 years old!


No, I don't use the functions of my watch very often at all, I've touched the function buttons no more than 10 times during the time I've owned it.


So much for solar powered watches, bring me to the point of why?


Edit: After conferring with Casio, it is not the battery that requires replacement the "open" that is displayed is the watch detecting the backing plate has become opened. So I removed the backing plate, fiddled around with springs which complete the circuit with the backing plate, put everything back together and the watch is now functioning normally.

Nissan Pulsar N15 Workshop Manual

I just found the service manual or often referred to as workshop manual for Nissan Pulsar N15.


Factory UK workshop manual covering the Nissan Almera (as the Pulsar is badged outside Australia) N15 series Hatchback and Sedan, from 1995 - 2000. It covers the following engines:

1.4 litre (1392cc) "GA14DE" DOHC 4 cylinder petrol
1.6 litre (1597cc) "GA16DE" DOHC 4 cylinder petrol
2.0 litre (1998cc) "SR20DE" DOHC 4 cylinder petrol
2.0 litre (1973cc) "CD20" 4 cylinder diesel

It does NOT cover the N16 range introduced in 2000.

Time

Being almost 40 years of age, I do not know where time has escaped me. Now married and with 2 very healthy daughters I can see how quickly time passes by. My youngest daughter Felicity is now steady on her feet and Emma is already talking like a little adult.
